Jesus Taught Manifestation—Here’s What They Don’t Preach

Hold on to your hats, history buffs and spiritual seekers! We’re about to dive into a story that’s part Indiana Jones, part profound spiritual awakening, and entirely fascinating. Imagine a group of ordinary workers in Egypt in 1945, probably just trying to get through their workday, when BAM! They accidentally unearth what can only be described as a spiritual treasure chest. This wasn’t just any old pot of gold; it was a large jar brimming with 13 leather-bound manuscripts, containing 48 distinct works. And let me tell you, these weren’t your grandma’s bedtime stories.

The Gnostic Goldmine

These unearthed texts were overwhelmingly Gnostic, a word that might sound intimidating but essentially means they championed salvation through mystical knowledge. Think of it as a cosmic cheat code for life, where the secret isn’t just believing, but knowing. According to this ancient wisdom, we’re not just physical beings; we’re souls temporarily wearing these human suits. And the goal? To ascend, to rise above the earthly fray, not by following a rigid rulebook, but by acquiring, inner understanding.

And who’s the VIP in this Gnostic narrative? None other than Jesus, portrayed not just as a prophet or a saviour, but as the Redeemer who came to drop some serious knowledge bombs. He didn’t just preach to the masses; he shared this deep, liberating wisdom with a select crew of disciples, one of whom was our main man, Thomas.

Now, here’s a thought: what if these incredible teachings had made it into the modern Bible? Would our spiritual landscape look vastly different? Perhaps the message of our inherent power would be clearer, bolder, and frankly, a lot less confusing. It makes you wonder if we’d all be walking around with a little more swagger, knowing the divine spark isn’t just out there, but roaring within us.

The Gospel of Thomas: Your Spiritual Instruction Manual

Forget your typical Sunday school tales. The Gospel of Thomas isn’t a narrative that starts with “Once upon a time in Bethlehem.” Oh no. It’s a compilation of approximately 114 powerful sayings attributed to Jesus. Think of it as a cosmic mic drop, where every utterance is designed to make you think, question, and ultimately, transform.

The very first words are like a secret handshake: “These are the secret words which Jesus the Living one spoke, and Didymus Judas Thomas wrote down.” And then, the kicker: “Whosoever finds the interpretation of these sayings shall never taste death.” If that doesn’t get your spiritual antenna twitching, I don’t know what will!

It continues with a tantalizing promise: “Let not him who seeks desist until he finds. When he finds, he will be troubled. When he is troubled, he will marvel. And he will reign over the universe.” This isn’t about finding a literal treasure map; it’s about uncovering the true meaning behind these cryptic sayings. When you finally get it, it’s going to hit you like a spiritual ton of bricks, challenging everything you thought you knew. You might even have a moment where you think, “Wait, I can do that?!” But then, that initial “trouble” gives way to marvel, as the truth of your own incredible power dawns on you. Suddenly, “heaven on earth” isn’t just a hopeful phrase; it’s a very real, very attainable reality. You literally get to be the boss of your own universe. Pretty cool, right?

The Great Omission: Where Did Thomas Go?

So, if this Gospel of Thomas is such a game-changer, why isn’t it nestled comfortably between Matthew and Mark in your Bible? Good question! It turns out there are plenty of theories. Some religious leaders argue that it’s just a different flavour of Jesus, perhaps a bit too philosophical for the biblical main course. They claim these teachings, while popular, weren’t strictly “necessary” for the Bible’s overall message. (Insert sarcastic eyebrow raise here.)

It’s astonishing how many people haven’t even heard of “the lost Gospel of Thomas.” If you haven’t, prepare to be amazed, because it’s considered by many to contain the actual words of Jesus, teaching people how to harness the incredible power of human emotion. If Indigenous and ancient cultures understood this, why did we lose it?

Well, buckle up, because here’s the juicy bit, especially for those of us rooted in the Judeo-Christian tradition. There was a time, before the 4th century, specifically the year 325 AD, when the language of emotion and our connection to a universal field of energy were very much part of our spiritual tradition. But then, something happened. Emperor Constantine and the early Christian church had a bit of an editorial meeting, and let’s just say a lot of information got “edited” out. We’re talking at least 45 books either completely removed or significantly altered, leading to what we now call our Western biblical tradition. It’s like someone took a spiritual eraser to huge chunks of our heritage!

When those edits were made, we lost crucial information. We lost the memo that “everything is connected.” We lost the instruction manual for the “language that speaks to this field.” How do we know this? Because we’re now finding this “lost and found” information in ancient texts like the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Nag Hammadi library, and Coptic texts. It’s like archaeological detectives are piecing together the spiritual puzzle of what got left out.

When we find writings attributed to Jesus that aren’t in our current Bibles but are consistent with what we know, we’re inclined to believe them. But if a saying seemed a little too revolutionary, perhaps suggesting that each person is infused with the same higher power as Jesus rather than fearing an external deity, well, those were often deemed “inconsistent” and edited out. Imagine if that truth had been widely accepted – it would have fundamentally changed our understanding of life and history! The idea that we are all part of the same one consciousness, simply taking different forms, is a game-changer. It means your quirky neighbour, that annoying driver, and even your cat are all different expressions of the same divine energy. Pretty cool, right?

The Thomas Translations: Practical Applications of Power

Let’s dive into some of these mind-bending sayings from the Gospel of Thomas and see how they can transform our lives. Prepare to have your perception of reality gently (or not so gently) shifted.

Verse 3: The Kingdom Within and Without

“If those who lead you say to you, ‘See, the kingdom is in the sky,’ then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, ‘It is in the sea,’ then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living Father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty, and it is you who are that poverty.”

Translation: This isn’t about some distant, celestial kingdom you must die to reach. It’s about realizing that power isn’t outside of you. If you believe someone or something else has dominion over your life, then, guess what? They will! But when you have that “aha!” moment and realize you are one with the universal consciousness, that all power springs from within, you literally step into an “ascended and rich way of life.” You manifest your external circumstances from your internal state. If you don’t know your own power, you’re essentially choosing to live in spiritual poverty. Ouch. But also, a massive wake-up call!

Verse 27: Fasting from the World

“If you do not fast from the world, you will not find the father’s domain.”

Translation: This isn’t about skipping meals. It’s about turning down the noise, the distractions, and the negative beliefs that plague us. If we don’t emotionally “fast” from the things that disturb us and instead choose to believe in our inner power to transform everything, we’re stuck on a loop, constantly experiencing the same old reality. Time to hit the “mute” button on negativity!

Verse 50: The Light Within

“If they say to you, ‘Where did you come from?’ say to them, ‘We came from the light, the place where the light came into being on its own accord and established itself and became manifest through their image.’ If they say to you, ‘Is it you?’ say, ‘We are its children, we are the elect of the living Father.’ If they ask you, ‘What is the sign of your Father in you?’ say to them, ‘It is movement and repose.'”1

Translation: The word “light” here is profound. It’s talking about your consciousness, the very essence of who you are, manifesting as a physical being. You are a walking, talking piece of the “all in all.” You are that divine light, experiencing life as “activity and awareness.” So next time someone asks where you’re from, you can dramatically declare, “I came from the Light!” Just be prepared for some confused looks.

Verse 77: The All in All

“Jesus said, ‘It is I who am the light which is above them all. It is I who am the all. From me did they all come forth, and unto me did they all extend. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift up the stone, and you will find me there.’

Translation: This is a mic drop of epic proportions. It means that the one consciousness (what Jesus represents) isn’t just in him; it literally lives within everything. So, when you stub your toe on a rock, know that you’re technically stubbing your toe on a piece of the divine. Deep, right?

Verse 113: The Kingdom is Now

“His disciples said to him, ‘When will the kingdom come?’ Jesus said, ‘It will not come by waiting for it. It will not be a matter of saying, “Here it is,” or “There it is.” Rather, the kingdom of the Father is spread out upon the earth, and men do not see it.'”

Translation: This is pure gold. We’re not waiting for some future event; we’re living in it right now! The power has always been within us; we just lost the spiritual instruction manual. This consciousness isn’t something to achieve; it’s already a part of everything, including you. Stop waiting for divine delivery; it’s already at your doorstep!

The Divine Matrix: Speaking its Language

So, how do we use this incredible knowledge? To “unleash the force of the divine matrix” in our lives, we need two things:

  1. Understanding how it works: Science can give us the mechanics, the blueprints of this energetic field.
  2. Speaking its language: This isn’t about fancy words; it’s about the ancient wisdom passed down through cultures for millennia. This is where Jesus and the great masters come in. Whether it’s Buddhist, Hindu, or pre-Christian traditions, they all point to the same truth: there’s an energy field, and we have the “language” to interact with it.

Thought and Emotion: The Power Couple

Now, for the good stuff. The Gospel of Thomas holds the key to manifestation, and it’s all about making your thought and emotion one. Take Verse 106: “When you make the two [thought and emotion] one… you will say to the mountain, ‘Mountain, move away!’ and the mountain will move away.”

It’s not about yelling at a mountain (though if you try it, send us a video!). It’s about combining your thought of what you want with the emotion of already having it. This creates a powerful, unified force that literally speaks to the universe.

And if that wasn’t clear enough, Verse 48 reiterates it: “If the two make peace with each other in this one house,” (and remember, you are the house, the temple!), “they will say to the mountain, ‘Move away!’ and it will move away.” Jesus is literally telling us, in multiple verses, how incredibly potent it is to marry thought and emotion. When these two become one in your heart, you create a feeling in your body that resonates with the universe.

The Real “Ask and Ye Shall Receive”

So, you’ve heard “Ask and ye shall receive,” right? And probably, like many, you’ve asked, and asked, and asked, and… crickets. Why? Because the “asking” isn’t done with your voice. It’s not a desperate plea to the heavens. It’s about speaking to the divine matrix in its own language, and that language isn’t words; it’s the power of your heart.

Remember those amazing electrical and magnetic waves your heart generates? That’s the language the field recognizes! When you create the feeling in your heart as if your prayer is already answered, you send out those waves, and the universe responds.

Now, here’s where it gets mind-blowing. The Bible you have today, the King James Version, specifically John 16:23-24, is the “condensed,” the “edited” version. Those editors in the 4th century took out the two sentences that tell us how to ask! Can you believe it?

Here are the original, retranslated words from the Aramaic, with the missing pieces restored: “All things that you asked straightly, directly from inside my name, you will be given. So far you’ve not done this because… Ask without hidden motive and be surrounded by your answer. Be enveloped by what you desire, that your gladness be full.

“Ask without hidden motive” means without judgment, without ego, purely from the heart. And “be surrounded by your answer,” “be enveloped by what you desire” means feel as if it has already happened! If you want the perfect relationship, feel the joy of already having it. If you want healing, feel the vibrant health in your body. When your thought (of the healing) and your emotion (the love of that thought) become one, that is the language the field recognizes. It’s like sending a clear signal to the universe.

Neville Goddard and the Power of Awareness

If that sounds a bit too “religious” for your taste, let’s bring in a philosopher. Neville Goddard, in his book The Power of Awareness, echoes the same truth: “You must make your future dream a present fact now by assuming the feeling of your wish fulfilled.”

Think about how those practitioners healed the woman with the tumour. They didn’t judge the cancer as “bad.” They simply accepted it as one possibility among many in the quantum world. Then, they chose a new reality by feeling as if the woman was already completely healed. Their chant, “Wassa Wassa,” meant “already done,” and “Mate Mate Mate” meant “now, now, now.” The body, in its wisdom, must respond to the language it understands.

So, the Buddhist traditions give us the importance of the quality of the feeling, and the Judeo-Christian traditions (in their original, unedited form) give us the instructions on how to create that feeling: by being surrounded, by being enveloped. It all happens in our hearts, not just our minds. Feeling as if your prayer is already answered, with no judgment and no ego, and feeling from the result as if it’s already happened.

The Martial Artist’s Secret

Here’s one final, killer analogy. Have you ever seen a martial artist shatter a concrete block? It’s impressive, right? Here’s their secret: the very last thing they think about is their hand hitting the block. Why? Because they know it’ll hurt! Instead, they focus on what happens after their hand has passed through the block, as if it has already happened. They visualize a point below the block and feel the feeling as if their hand is already in that place.

That, my friends, is a perfect metaphor for what we’re doing with the power of emotion. It’s about feeling as if the experience has already happened, living from the end result, rather than focusing on the obstacle.

The Gospel of Thomas isn’t just an ancient text; it’s a profound connection to consciousness and all that is. It’s the knowledge that truly liberates us. When we fail to experience this higher consciousness, we feel separate, alone, and at the mercy of circumstances. But to break free from any unwanted reality, we must replace the false image of who we think we are with the true knowledge of our magnificent, inherent power.

So, what amazing reality are you going to “feel into” today?
